Yoshi

April 5th, 2013 – February 23rd, 2023

Yoshi, I remember when you first entered my life. My ex and brother lied and said you had been abandoned at the food bank. Years later my brother admitted that they brought you home because you kept trying to follow them across fortune and they were afraid you’d get hit by a car. Even though I unintentionally may have stolen you from a previous owner, I have never regretted doing this because I fell in love with you the moment I saw you.

You were always so curious and had to give every new thing brought into the house the “royal Yoshi inspection,” even if it meant getting in the way. You quickly decided you were the king of the house despite your brother being with me first. You always expressed such joy when you were being petted and would demand attention even if it meant climbing up or over people. You were always so excited when your father would come home, chirping the moment he’d pass by the window.

The house seems so quiet now that you aren’t here. The years that you have been in our lives have been so special. You will forever be missed. R.I.P my sweet polydactyl pumpkin cat.
