Poi

It is with great sadness I announce that Prince Poi, Poi Boi, P-Poi, Angel, Sweet Boy and many more has crossed the rainbow bridge on October 21, 2025.

Poi was adopted along side his brother BamBam from the SPCA in Castlegar in 2024 after their owner in had sadly passed away. Raised on a farm with many other animals, he had a full and busy life. We were/are privileged enough to be able to have these boys live out their senior years with us. Poi was adopted as a palliative dog due to heart conditions, and later diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease. He struggled with his back end mobility further down the road.

He enjoyed a swim or wading in water, playing with his tiny ball, going for walks, rolling in the snow and sleeping- he earned it.

I will miss singing “Poi your my angel, your my darlin poi boi, closer than my peeps you are to me, poi-ee” (in tune to girl your my angel-shaggy). While we had Poi in our lives for only a short time- Less than 2 years- we hold him close to our hearts and cherish the fond memories we made in that time. I would like to thank all staff at Penticton SPCA Veterinary Hospital for all the tender love and care they have provided.

Thank you for your unconditional love Poi. You have a whole crew of dogs waiting for you on the other side.
