BRUNA

On June 15, 2025, we said goodbye to our beloved Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Bruna. She was born on September 15, 2012 in Vernon, B.C., to her mother Dam: Mallardsway Miss Dixie and her father Sire: Accords Remis Legend. We later adopted her into our loving home (in Kamloops) at mere three months of age.

Bruna was loyal, loving, protective, humorous and stubborn. Her favourite activity was anything to do with water! She was a great swimmer, enjoyed jumping, and most especially underwater diving. Always looking for large saturated logs to bring ashore. Even though she looked ridiculous, a small stick was never enough – she was a logger!

Bruna amused everyone by stealing toilet paper from the bathroom and trailing it out into the living room. She would also get pretty snarly with Uncle Mel during playtime when he came to visit. She loved her walks, chasing marmots, playing with her eggball, giving hugs to all humans, car rides, and eating fruits and vegetables. Pulling carrots from the garden was a favourite pastime in the summer and her favourite fruit was oranges.

We know that we’ll see Bruna again and until then, we have a lifetime of cherished memories for us to warm our hearts and souls.
