A Goodbye Letter to Angus

My dear Angus,

I’ve known you since you were eight weeks old, and I can hardly remember my life before you. You grew up beside me — quietly, faithfully — every single day for fifteen years. You weren’t just my dog. You were my companion, my comfort, my second son.

You went to work with me as if it were the most natural thing in the world, sitting among students as though you belonged there — because you did. You belonged everywhere I was. You always did.

We travelled together. We crossed borders, drove long roads, slept under the stars, and found joy on beaches far from home. I will never forget how much you loved the ocean air and the sand beneath your paws. Whenever we were on a beach, no matter where we went, you would run like the wind — full of joy and a sense of freedom. You were small, but you were brave. You loved people. You loved life. And I loved you without question.

Today, I stayed close to you as your body grew tired and ready to rest. You left this world at home, surrounded by love, and that matters more than I can ever say.

Thank you for every day you gave me. Thank you for your loyalty, your gentleness, your courage, and your beautiful heart. My life is forever changed because you were in it.

I will miss you more than words can hold.
You are loved beyond measure.
