We’ll miss you, old girl. You were such a big part of our journey and so wonderfully quirky. We’ll miss your mealtime chaos and your constant reminders, your bossy, motherly way of keeping everyone in line. You always balanced playfulness with that strong “boss” mentality that made you who you were.

I’ll never forget the very first day I brought you home — thinking it would be a good idea to let you off leash at the beach, only for you to run all the way back home. There you were, waiting calmly at the back door while I frantically searched for you. That was you: independent, determined, and always on your own terms. You really were a home girl at heart, never one for car rides, always happiest being where you belonged. And overall, you truly lived up to your nickname, EC — our easygoing girl, never high maintenance, just content to be with us.

The way you always checked in on me will be cherished forever. You had such a strong emotional bond with your humans, always knowing our feelings and emotions. If I wasn’t feeling well, you would never leave my side. And if I stayed somewhere too long, I could count on hearing you coming to check in on me, even if just briefly. That kind of love and loyalty can never be replaced.

You stayed fierce and strong right until the very end, so stoic and brave. The house feels so quiet without you. I keep waiting for your footsteps, but I know they aren’t coming. We miss you so deeply. Run free now, my boss girl.❤️
