RADAR

Today is a very sad day for us as we had to have our beloved little dog Radar put to sleep this morning. Radar battled diabetes for over 5 years, but today his poor little body was giving out on him. His spirit was willing even right to the end he was such a happy soul.

In the last year blindness and deafness gripped him, but he still remained a very happy loving dog. He was such a gentle spirit and never bit anyone in anger. He would take food from your hand so gently, even his most favorite food never came ahead of careful consideration of fingers that fed him.

He used to love to play ball and would go and go until he literally would collapse, but his blindness ended his ball chasing days. Radar still insisted in going for daily walk even to the second last day, although his pace was frustratingly slow the last year.

Radar loved to ride on the atv and would lean his head over my shoulder and with a big smile would take in all the sights, sounds and new smells. If a cat has 9 lives then Radar had about 20. He got himself into many deadly predicaments and always managed to land on his feet. Unfortunately today he had no cards left to play and has gone on to a better place.

I hope when this life is over I can join Radar and all my other dogs in a better place where there is no more pain or sorrow or sickness or death. Where we can embrace once more and forever. We loved you so much Radar and you will be remembered and never forgotten.

It’s been a little over a month and your absence is like a shadow for us. We look at the many pictures and videos we have of you and remember the happy days when you enjoyed good health. You soldiered on thru your illness and kept us such wonderful company. Even though we miss you dearly, our desire to keep you couldn’t come ahead of your needs. You were strong and faithful to the end and such a sweet boy, there is none sweeter or more missed than you Radar. We hope your chasing balls and walking with the angels, until we can be together again. A thousand kisses baby boy, a thousand kisses!

Radar was born in September 2001 and passed away May 3 2014 at 12 1/2 years old. Far too short!
