Feb.11/2010 — May 11/2017

We were moving back to Ont, from Kelowna the week of May 12th 2017. My husband Jim had been working back in Ont. and I was getting things ready for the move. Jim came back to Kelowna on May 9th 2017, and the next day, Saturday, Jim took Ramsay Cyrus and his Doby sister Pippa Jane to the dog park. That night Ramsay didn’t eat his home cooked food. He seemed out of sorts. We went to bed after midnight. Ramsay laid at the bedroom door and just looked at me. Physically he seemed fine. I told him to come and get me if he needed me. He was not a snuggler. I gave him his usual good night kiss and went to bed.

I awoke the next morning, Sunday, and found him on the kitchen floor. He hadn’t been gone long. I completely fell apart. I kept him with me for a few hours, and then took him to the hospital. They said you wouldn’t be coming until mid week, which didn’t work because we had to leave Friday by noon, and he had to come with us. From then on you provided the most loving, gentle, and caring service for us and Ramsay. We delivered him to you in a large box, and choose our urn and jewelry. He was privately cremated.

Ramsay Cyrus Kurtz was only 7 years old. My big beautiful furry Siberian Husky with eyes as blue as the sea. Paul Newman eyes everyone said. Eccentric, picky, mouthy, stubborn, hilarious, and a great conversationalist…I miss you sweet little man.

I asked the coroner to find out what happened. She discovered he had a hemangiosarcoma on his heart. There was no saving my beautiful boy. He is always with me as is his sister Pippa Jane, who crossed the rainbow bridge at 13 1/2 this past Aug 11 2027. I am having the same glass jewelry artist who made Ramsay’s necklace, make Pippa Jane’s.
