22 Nov JESSIE
It’s been six months already since our Jessie died and was cremated, but life has been hectic – and frankly, every thought of my beloved cats still brings on tears now… It was just too hard to write another memorial so shortly after the first, so I let it slide.
But Jessie deserves a memorial!
She was a wonderful companion and truly the family sweetheart. She was the glue that held the family together.
Adopted on August 16, 1995, eight days after Zita, she was never to be separated from her friend – or from us for that matter – always cuddling up, always keeping close and always seeking contact.
After Zita was put to rest on February 1, 2013, Jessie waited for her friend to come home. She looked lost and lonely and just as broken hearted as us humans did. She held on for another three and a half months until she too succumbed to diseases undoubtedly brought on by old age. On May 17, at around 2:30am, we had to make the heart breaking decision that it was time for Jessie to be reunited with her friend Zita.
We all miss her terribly, but she lived to a proud age of nearly 18 – she had a great, long run at life with us and we will never forget her.
The house is so empty now, with both our beloved kitties gone. And six months down the road it still hurts so bad to even think of our babies. But our hearts are full of precious memories that we will hold on to forever.
